A Miniature Dutch Pincushion Doll

This doll is dedicated to Ida Galassini Vianello, a wise elegant lady, always very respectful toward people and highly respected. Talented and full of taste, she has been one of my best friend. Our friendship relationship was built on many years as neighbours. We had many common interests and we shared respect and love for art and life. I consider myself very fortunate to have been friend of her for more than 20 years. Ida will live unforgettable in my heart and the heart of my husband and our daughter. This pincushion doll has been stitched in antique Dutch sampler style with the beautiful hand dyed silk threads of Valdani over the special hand dyed linen of Lakeside Linens.

I have used an antique half doll of my collection, purchased on Ebay but there are several options for reproduction half dolls from Half Doll Heaven or Brierrose. My model has been stitched over one but I am giving the option for stitching the skirt over two (different size of skirt and half doll).

Fabric	: 36 ct Hand Dyed Vintage Magnolia linen from Lakeside Linens - one 8” x 6 “ (20.5 x 15.5 cm) piece when stitching over one - one 15 ½ “x 8 ½ “ (40 x 21.5 cm) piece when stitching over two.
Threads	one spool each of hand-dyed silk threads O 503 and O571 from Valdani Inc.
Stitches	cross stitch, back stitch, drawn-thread work
